Rückwärts fahren wir aus dem Slip und nehmen Kurs auf das nächste Tonnenpaar, welche die Ausfahrt aus dem amvrakischen Golf markieren. Ich suche auf dem Kartenplotter Rocella Ionica, unser angepeiltes Ziel und setzte einen Wegpunkt.. Noch 207 Meilen, das bedeutet mindestens zwei Nächte durchfahren. Ganz leicht spüren wir Wind von hinten, viel zu wenig zum Segeln. Wir passieren das letzte Tonnenpaar, an Backbord ragt im Dunst Lefkada mehr als 1000 m in die Höhe. Kurz nach zehn quellen ein paar Segelschiffe aus der Nordeinfahrt des Lefkaskanals und nehmen Kurs auf das im Dunst verborgene Paxi auf unserer Steuerbordseite. Squibs Bug zeigt aufs offene Meer, 260° unser Kurs. Gleichmäßig brummen die Motoren mit 2200 Touren, etwas über 5 Knoten zeigt die Logge. Langwellige Dünung lässt Squib sachte rauf und runter fahren. Während des Vormittags setzen wir eine neue LED Birne ins Rücklicht ein, die alte brannte nicht mehr, haben wir am Vorabend beim Check festgestellt. Danach installieren wir den alten Pinnenpiloten, der noch von Madaris stammt, am Heck und verbinden ihm mit der Aries Windsteueranlage. Das soll Strom sparen, da bei diesem System die Kraft zum Steuern aus dem Wasserströmung am Pendelruder kommt, der Autopilot dreht nur das Ruder, das daraufhin auf einer Seite mehr Widerstand bietet, das Ruder schlägt aus und über Seilzug werden die beiden Schiffsruder bewegt. Nach kurzer Anpassung funktioniert das so gut, dass wir damit gleich weiterfahren.
Zu Mittag gibt es griechischen Salat mit Sardinen und Weißbrot. Der Wind bleibt schwach, wir motoren dem Abend entgegen. Nach einer Kleinigkeit zu Essen legt sich Gerhard kurz vor 21h schlafen. Endlich kommt etwas Wind auf, ich setze die Genua und nehme die Drehzahl auf 1500 Touren zurück. Um 1:30 kommt Gerhard und löst mich ab, die Genua rollen wir ein, noch immer kaum Wind.
Als ich aufstehe ist es schon hell. Die Logge zeigt noch 100 Meilen bis zum Ziel an. Anders als am Vortag sind kaum Wolken am Himmel, ein schöner Tag kündigt sich an. Wind kommt auf, wir setzen zuerst das Großsegel, dann die Genua, Motor aus, endlich. Gerhard legt sich nach dem Frühstück nochmals nieder, plötzlich sitzt ein kleiner Vogel neben den Windinstrumenten über dem Schiebeluck.Ich habe ihm gar nicht landen sehen. Hier mitten auf dem Meer 200 km vom nächsten Land entfernt hat er einen Punkt zum Ausrasten gefunden.
Bis zum Nachmittag müssen wir aufpassen wo wir uns hinsetzen, der kleine Kerl taucht übrall auf. Währenddessen zieht Squib mit 4,5 bis 6 Knoten Richtung Westen, den ganzen Tag haben wir 10- 16 Knoten Wind, zuerst aus NW, über Mittag dreht er langsam auf NO.Als es Abends dann nur noch mit 2 Knoten dahingeht, bergen wir die Segel und starten wieder die Motoren. Gerhard serviert !A Pasta mit Penne, bevor er wieder schlafen geht. Noch 50 Meilen. Mehr als drei Stunden beobachte ich eine hell beleuchtete Bohrinsel, wie sie langsam hinter dem Heck verschwindet. Das neue Funkgerät ist eingeschaltet, manchmal hört man kurze Anrufe, die aber alle nicht uns betreffen. Das Funkgerät hat auch passives AIS mit 10 Meilen Reichweite, so können wir Schiffe schon weit voraus erkennen.
Als ich Gerhard um 2:00 wecke, sind es noch 25 meilen bis Rocella Ionica. Schon lange vorher waren beleuchtete Dörfer an der Küste auszumachen. Als ich aufwache und aufstehe sind es nur noch 1,2 Meilen bis zur Marina. Ich übernehme das Steuer, Gerhard hängt die Fender raus und bereitet die Festmacher vor. Im weitem Bogen umrunde ich die Mole, weil sich hier oft Sand ablagert und das Wasser sehr seicht macht. Knapp nach sieben Uhr legen wir an einem Fingersteg an, ohne das von uns Notiz genommen wird. Geschaft, die Hälfte der Strecke unseres gemeinsamen Törns liegt bereits hinter uns. 207 Seemeilen in 45 Stunden. Leider ist der Brauch vorbei, die ersten zwei Tag hier umsonst liegen zu können, wir zahlen 60€ für einen Tag.
